About the projectThis project aims at improving the wellbeing of people with disabilities by enhancing service delivery through improved project management in Africa. This is in recognition that how results are achieved is just as important as the results achieved. There are increasing opportunities for grassroots organisations and special schools supporting people with disabilities to access funding through their governments and other international actors. However, they are expected to be able to manage the finances and the project deliverables in a professional manner, which also ensures that projects are successfully implemented. Most of the managers are goodwill volunteers, philanthropist and technical people in the field of disabilities. There is undivided effort to commit every dollar to beneficiaries with little attention to develop capacities to manage and sustain these projects.. The end result is more expensive. This has led to frustration of parties’ involved, dismal performance, missed opportunities and apathy from community on failing initiatives. This project model selected projects that can be cascaded, replicated or adapted in Africa. |
